How should I pack for Egypt?

When traveling abroad, it’s always an excellent practice to respect the culture and not draw attention as a foreigner. Egypt is a modern Muslim country. Women are not required to cover their heads, and a lot of people in the bigger cities wear Western attire. In smaller towns, most people wear galabeya, which is the traditional spacious cotton garment.

We highly suggest for any outdoors tours to bring conservative clothes that cover the shoulders, chest & anything below knees, shorts are not generally recommended for either men or women in public. When we are on the boat we can wear whatever we want, as we will have more privacy. It will be very hot during the day and quite chilly at night. The sun is strong in Egypt. Breezy, breathable material is ideal, and bring some layers for the evenings. We will have very limited laundry service available if necessary for extra cost. You will definitely need a backpack, comfortable shoes, sandals, a hat, sunscreen, and swimsuit. A detailed packing list will be sent to attendees after registration.
